Why We Bless

During the Bitterness week, it was shared that the process of forgiveness is to:

Repent (for you holding unforgiveness toward another)
Forgive
Release and
Bless

We shared that we want to bless so that we forgive the way the Lord forgives us - God just doesn't zero out our debt of sin, but rather fills up our account with blessings!

Another reason we bless is so that the next time when we remember the person who has offended us, we remember the blessing and not the offense.

So, keep on blessing! Your words of forgiveness and blessing are POWERFUL! Even though you may not FEEL it, things are being broken up and shaken in the spirit world.

  2. Ok - I'm going to try again.

    Hi Dora,

A clarification/question...when we forgive the offense and release it, then we bless the person who has offended us that they will NOT experience the same offense against them?

If so, can you give a simple example for those of us who are having trouble with this?

Thanks...and thanks for sharing this ministry.

  3. Hey Dora, Steve, I think I posted my question in the wrong spot so I'll post it here! My question has to do with rebuking the evil spirit/stronghold. Why do we have to do it outloud - does it really not "count" if we pray it in our head? Thanks, Sherry

  4. hey susan, i'll take a stab...
someone cuts you off in traffic: "I forgive this driver for cutting me off in traffic. God, bless this driver with pleasant driving experiences. Surround this driver with polite, patient drivers that let this driver over into their lane."

bad customer service: "I forgive the employee in Better Sportswear for treating me rudely and displaying a bad attitude when i asked for help finding a size. God, bless this employee with positive and courteous customer services experiences. Bring into this person's shopping path, sales clerks that are happy to help."

  5. SEA/Sherry,

It's not that it doesn't count if we rebuke spirits as a prayer in our head (though I'm not sure if it does or doesn't), it's more than scriptures teach us that our words, our spoken outloud words, are POWERFUL.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21

Rom 10:10 ‘it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Our words are a VOICE OF FAITH. They carry weight and power, not only with ourselves and others, but to things in the spiritual world, as well.
The way our heart hears the best is when the Word comes from our own lips. The most powerful words that affect your life are the words you speak! Our spirits are sensitive to those very words we speak.

If you are someone who has not prayed much in front of others, did you notice how much harder it was to pray in front of people than in was to pray in your head? It's because our souls recognize the power of the spoken word.

Also, when Jesus dealt with demons and demons in people, he spoke it out to them and commanded them to go. Scripture shows us that they were times Jesus prayed alone silently, but in dealing with demons, he commanded them to go out loud.

We cover more about the power of the spoken word in the Accusation wee, but hope this helps for now.
